We are pretty good at recording the plants we’ve put in and their locations, I’ve even insisted that each of the beds has a number or name.

To help with that we put all the info on plants, area and events such as seeding and harvesting into an app called Gardenize.

We’re far from perfect though as this picture shows…

These are the first leaves of some cheerful daffodils planted last spring, which are a bit weedy and yellow because they are fighting to emerge from under a large bag of compost that had been stored over them.

Luckily I had a nagging feeling that something was missing when digging nearby and pulled the offending compost bag off just in time (we hope).
